ribble
With the river season drawing to a close, I took my chance and managed a few hours on the ribble.
Arrived at around 06:00, white cloud, slight breeze and a bit nippy.
Set up was 2 rods, 1 set up to fish a pellet for barbel, the other set up with a maggot feeder for chub.
Bait for the session was simply maggots and a few pellets.
Nothing much happened for a few hours, not even a tap on either rod.
My mate was running a stick float and also never has so much as a touch.
It got to around ½ ten before I got my first knock, a tap on the maggot, then another, then something to strike at, a short while later I was unhooking a small rainbow trout.

Still nothing happening on the pellet.
I carried on, managed a couple of small chublets, again on the maggot with nothing, not even a touch on pellet.
My mate had pretty much the same, small trout and a few small chublets.
We fished till around 1oclock before heading home.
Was nice to get on a river again, even if the fishing was below par.
