Moat House Fishery
I fished the Moat House fishery for a few hours yesterday which is situated off Gorsey Lane (Bold I think)
Its £5 for one rod and £7 for two. I opted for one on this occasion and fished on a block-end swim feeder with red maggots/ 3reds hookbait. I fished on quite light tackle with 6lb main line through the feeder and 2lb hooklength through to a size 16 hook. Ive found when using feeders you can often get tangles which means the bait isn't presented properley so I tried some silicon tubing over a small part of the top of the hooklength closest to the swivel and covering half the swivel also. This helped a great deal and gave me more confidence that my line wasn't tangled when entering the water and the overall outcome was pretty significant. I found a decent swim on the largest of the two ponds after a bit of searching and casting to different areas. I had constant indications and fish attacking the feeder until hitting into a 4lb common carp which did quite nicely. After this, I had quite a few skimmers and 3 other commons ranging from 3-4lb. May not be monster, specimans but good sport nonetheless especially on light tackle, I would definately recommend a visit to the fishery as its only a sky diver from dawn till dusk.

Re: Moat House Fishery
Went there this morning 1st time ive fished it even tho its only around the corner from where i live. Had a good start pulling lots of crusians out between 1 and 4lb. Then at 11ish it went abit quiet apart from pulling the odd skimmer out. My dad was getting the odd skimmer aswell until he hooked a nice chub in very good condition. Then i hooked a bloody eel took me ages to get it back in (had no newspaper to hand) then my dad caught 1 lol. Hooked into something big but it got off and this was all on my float rod on 2 red maggot i had my carp rod in on double sweetcorn but didnt have any action. But all in all had a nice days fishing will defo be going again to try some different methods n tactics

The bigger fish seem to come out of the horse shoe and they know all the snags so they need to be bullied. Tight lines.

Re: Moat House Fishery
fished moathouse today had a good day apart from the shitty weather, started off with a couple of carp ranging from 2lb-6lb then went a bit quite then was pulling in the bream and tench on single corn,, then as the day went by and the sun came out i hit into a 11lb common and a 14lb mirror on spam and corn, this was on the first pond in the far right corner next to the weeds, all in all nice quite scenery and some nice fish , definantly recomend it for beginers

Re: Moat House Fishery
Fished here several times over the past few weeks an today, was fishing in the horseshoe island at the back, it was very slow for the first 4 hours with only 2 small carp on the bank an a lost fish, i then moved very close to the weeds on the right an caught within 5mins an then caught another 2 in the next 25 mins, 1 was 10lb. i caught another 3 over the next 2 hours, 1 was 8lb. all were caught on 8mm krill boilies with pellets and groundbait on a method feeder.
