i dont know if there taking on any new members, if they do you will need get a existing member to sponsor you! if you have lapsed your permit but its 3 years or less you shouldnt need a sponsor! this is to the best of my knowledge dont take it as gospel tbh its been hard just getting the dates so other info is harder to come by

Pilks are now taking new member, aslong as you have an exsisting member to sponcor you, also you will need to take your rod licence with you.

Is it true that people up to 17 years old dont need a sponsor? My friend said that he saw this over at a pilks lake in rainford

I've recently become a member at Pilks but unfortunately I was unable to get down to get my 15 year old son his Junior licence last week as I was stuck in work!!!!

Does anyone know if I will still be able to contact someone in order get him his licence or is that it now fit another year?

If someone can provide me with a name and contact number or email that would be great.

i wason the pilks committee for 2 years i can tell 100% if you miss the issue you wont get a permit

No problem, cheers. I can understand they're the dates and that's it, eye but if its a junior I don't see why it's a major problem coz its bit like they need a sponsor.

The other thing was I originally went down when I got mine and then after bring told my son could join I raced back to pick him up and bring him down by the 9.00pm deadline to sort it. We got back at 9.02pm to be told sorry but that's it for this week! Now he'll have to wait till next year before he can fish with me all because of 2 minutes!

Gutted because I only really go fishing because I can spend time with my lad but understand if this how it works then that's that. Never mind, role on next year - back to the St Helens and Newton Permits for us!
