ST HELENS AA CANAL MATCH RESULTS 19,3,08

A really good turnout today for the penultimate match of the series and there was 28 anglers at the drawbag, water level was up a little and with a quite a bit of colour due to carp spawning and churning the bottom up around the shallows with it clearing off the further you went down the canal and Matalan side was gin clear, the weather was lovely nice and sunny with a moderate breeze now and again so quite a good day all round.

First hour and Charlie Horn on peg 9 was getting some nice skimmers on pellet, Mike Elder on peg 38 was getting some quality silvers plus 2 small commons on maggot, Johnathon Fairhurst on peg 37 was doing well with silvers plus a carp around 6lb, Tony Fairclough on peg 20 had a carp around 10lb , Ste Hammy on peg 4 was working hard to catch roach and peg 35 was producing a lot silvers it was as if it was black with fish,

Next hour and and Gaz Shaw had a proper lump at around the 10lb mark which gave him a cracking fight, Mike Elder had a few more carp plus silvers, Charlie Horn was still doing well with skimmers, Ray Roughley on peg 28 had a few skimmers , Johnathan Fairhurst had another carp and plenty of silvers , Billy Isherwood on peg 7, Ste Hammy were both getting silvers and peg 35 was still producing silvers,

Next couple of hours and peg 9 produced a carp around 4lb, Kev Jones on peg 17 had a nice carp at 8lb 12oz , Charlie Horn ,Mike Elder and Johnathon Fairhurst were getting action from skimmers and Dave Allsop on peg 34 was getting a few silvers and apart it was very slow.

Last hour and Johnathon Fairhurst bagged a few more carp the biggest being around 5lb plus silvers , Mike Elder had a few more small carp plus some good silvers, Charlie Horn was still doing well with skimmers , peg 35 threw up 2 small carp plus silvers, Ste Hammy had a carp around 3lb plus bits and Gaz Shaw had another quality carp around 12lb.

Well the fishing today was hard today for most with the majority of fish congregating in the shallow pegs for spawning and the results prove it.

another great write up viv well done what can i say fish was in the peg but the was good angling aswell tho haha well done gaz u beat mark o brownin with one fish haha and well done on gettin them lumps in pal i will be back next week hopefully another draw like that big money next week

cant beat you tho with that jammy draw lmaoo but better still a good angler on the peg i just wish i had that fish what i lost lmaoo now that was a 20 haha ><))))))))-O

thats why sully had 3 carp and lost 5 and ste hammy had one and they both caught at both sides of you mark 6lb odd at 1 side and 12lb 6 on the other and a little 2lb in the middle
