ok what is the lowest diameter line i should be using for carp on the canal at this time of year? i rarely get carp on a match from the far bank and most of the time when i do its on a roach rig which almost allways as one outcome shnnaaap! but lately i have gone down to 0.13 for carp and yet still cant get one accross Shocked so i dont think its the line ! and it cant be the 20's hook so what is it?

what line diam ?

what shotting pattern ?

cheers

dont put a shot right near your hook, bulk it about 6/7 inches away from hook... and cut the tag short after you have tied the hook i see you leave them abit long Very Happy

I would agree 0.10 should be fine if your peg does not have snags in winter the carp dont seem to have as much go in them as the summer you also need to balance your elastic with your line no good fishing a 10's lazy and finding your shipping back to 9mtrs to land a fish because you have 6mtrs hanging out of the end of your pole.

but then again i have won a match at Bannisters with 15lb maxima on the tip
