ST HELENS CANAL MATCH RESULTS 14,1,09

A low turnout for the second match of the year with only 16 anglers at the drawbag, the canal was up this week and the shallows had a good bit of colour in them, the weather was dry but very cold with the bitter that was whipping up and down the canal.

Phil Holland on 39 peg had a nice common around 6lb in the first half hour and bagged another good common buy the end of the match plus some nice roach, Ste Hammy had a carp around 3lb on 24 peg and some silvers, Alan Lever had a carp around 6lb and a plenty of silvers on peg 16, Graham Dawber on peg 22 bagged 3 small carp and a handful of silvers ,Mike Elder has some lovely roach on Matalan peg 9, Ste Rimmer managed 1 small carp and a few bits on 20 peg, Tony Pennington had a few skimmers and roach on peg 12, Frank Nelson on peg 10 managed to net a carp by a the end of the match but lost 2 lumps (he got creamed lol) and Shaun Morris on peg 18 had 4 bits for 6oz and beat his dad again , while Dave Alsop had a plenty of silvers on the gusher because he drew peg 37 and was not a happy man.
