ST HELENS CANAL MATCH REPORT 25,3,09

Well the weather played its part today in the last match of the series, with blustery winds and tackle flying all over it was going to be a slow hard match, but for the 2 pegs either side of the new bridge it was a different story Carl Owen on one side (peg 28) was fishing up in the water on pellet and was hitting one carp after another plus some quality skimmers, and went on to win the match, Tony Pennington on the other side (peg 27) was also fishing up in the water on pellet producing some nice carp and silvers, Ste Hammy on peg 4 Netted a lovely lump of around 9lb first put in and went on to bag 2 small carp plus a few silvers, Baz Ashcroft on peg 9 netted a carp around 8lb plus some nice silvers to go with it. Iain Sullivan on T3 and Ste Edwards on T8 both managed a small carp and a few silvers, Everyone else was picking up the odd skimmer and roach as well as holding on to their tackle, What a ruff day it was.

Well done too carl and tony two cracking weights its been a good season on the canal with a lot of laughs along the way not as many fish as last year but look on the bright side we have gained a bridge and two flyers i wonder if will be finished for september and how the canal will look then,

i also would like to thank dave for all he's hard work running the matches again so THANKS DAVE :fsm:
