What gear have you got and why?
Hi Guys,Thought I'd tell you what I bought and why. After redundancy last year I could have had any seatbox I wanted.I bought
a Shakey Beta, big enough for my needs yet light,Fitted it with Octo Mainfrane+18" legs.2 Preston trays,LH side for bait boxes
RH side for tackle box.No messing about rooting through drawers. An Ultimate Pups system pole rest fitted on RH legs means
no suicidal capers trying to hammer a front bankstick in.Bought 4 Preston canal winder boxes--10 in each=40 rigs--plenty.
These are placed in Shakey side tray LH side,no need to stand up sorting through loads of rigs under your seat.
Bought a Shakey Quba 5'6 holdall-advertised as 3/4 tube-will take 6 easily.IMO many holdalls are far too big.Poles-Maver
Inspiration 8 mtr for silvers-334 grms--.can strike one-handed. Daiwa Yank'nBank 10 mtr for heavier stuff-(.who thinks these
names up? )Preston 3 mtr whip for Summer hemping.Garbo 3 mtr coach picker for tip work-brilliant value for 20 quid.Got a
couple of float rods-Daiwa Aqualite 13' and Sensas specimen Match 13'--not seeing the light of day-sold 'em to my mate.Prefer
pole fishing. You can drop a rig in a hole in a weed bed--try that with a waggler.(Are you listening Viv ?!!) New gear being
considered is Shimano Technium 13 mtr xta (heard nothing but praise for these).Browning Border Marauder ('nother great name) 6 mtr margin pole.(Any one got one? Tell us what you think.) Forgot to mention my Shakey trolley -£25 from Bennetts
and my Drennan bag(swallows 'owt you put in it.With all my gear I've gone for lightness, where poss, and compactness. At 61
my mountain goat days are over!! So come on guys, tell us what you use and why.Be lucky,Don.

The Shimano's not a deffo Marcus, the xta has been replaced by the xtb which is about
a 100 quid dearer. It will be for next season so I'll have a good look around on the net
to see wot's hot and wot's not. Like many of us I'm on a tight budget so around
250 quid tops. Cheers, Don.

Re: What gear have you got and why?
Sorry!!!,i forgot i wrote that, bit emotionally tired that day.Hope nobody
was offended.
I had relatives living around Carr mill dam(in houses!) & i remembered
as a litt'l un walking around & seeing the remains of an old toy train track
with turnstiles & all & my grand pops explaining to me it was a train for kids
that used to go around the dam.Dont know where the Nigel starmer -Smith
came from,or the hotties tbh
Mr T signing off "I aint gettin in no plazy crane, you flupid stool"
was offended.
