ST HELENS AA CANAL MATCH RESULTS 9,1,08

Post by waggler woman on Wed Jan 09, 2008 1:23 pm

Well true to form the weather was not the best today for the fifteen anglers who turned out, The wind was absolutely ridiculous and with brollies getting blown all over the place it was a real struggle for most to get any level of comfort never mind catch fish, on the plus side it didnít rain but it was still very cold all the same and this was reflected in the fishing, so as you would expect it turned out to be a very slow match indeed.

So first hour and it bit bashing all down the canal and bites were very hard to come by, Mark Addy on peg 24 managed a few roach ,John Risley peg 26 , Alan Lever peg 6 and Johnny Howard on peg 7 also managed a few bits,
Next hour or so and Sully on peg 10 had 2 small carp and a few bits , Johnny Howard was still getting bits, Alan Lever ,Mark Addy and Andy Jones on peg 18 were also getting some action from silverfish, George Wilton on peg 37 bagged a carp around 2-3lb mark plus a few bits, Ray Roughley on peg 39 had a carp around 8lb Ste Hammy on peg 32 had a few bits and a nice skimmer around 2lb and Mark Tyrer on peg 22 had a few bits,
Last hour or so George Wilton had another carp in his net, Sully had another carp, Mark Tyrer did well in the strong wind and plucked out a nice carp off the far shelf, Mark Addy had the silvers on the go and was catching well, Ste Hammy was catching quality silvers on and off, and as usual right on queue Sully bagged a nice carp right at the death.

Hereís the results and a few pics!
