ST HELENS CANAL MATCH REPORT! 14,11,07

Not the best conditions today with the wind blowing a gale and the occasional shower thrown in for good measure but the die hards were out in force and 22 anglers turned out for the draw.

So an hour in and a few silvers being caught on peg 6 by Ste Hammy, Mike Elder on peg 10 had a catfish in his net, Ste Rimmer on peg 39 and Graham Dawber on peg 37 had a small carp and a few others were getting the odd silverfish here and there.
A couple of hours later and Ste Rimmer had bagged another carp while Graham Dawber was also doing well with small carp, Mike Elder was 2 small carp for the better and Lee Addy and Ste Hammy were catching silvers steadily plus a small carp each.
Last hour and things were on the up with carp coming out nearly all along the canal , Ian Sullivan on peg 29 managed to loose more than he got in! but still put at least 4 in his net, Ste Rimmer ,Graham Dawber, Jimmy Woods and Mike Elder all had a carp or two in the last hour.
The catch of the day belonged to my good friend Mike Elder with a stunning 11lb 3oz catfish. NICE ONE MIKE!
