ST HELENS AA CANAL MATCH REPORT 10,10,07

Well 18 anglers turned up today and the weather was favorable, no wind no rain and a totally flat calm surface, but as on previous matches 2 hours in and not much in nets, with the exception of Dave ALlsop on peg 22 catching silvers like a machine and Keith Dixon on peg 39 with a couple of small carp under his belt. 12.30 and with a lot of fish showing on the surface some anglers changed tactic and for some it payed off, 4 hours in and the sun was cracking the flags , and a few anglers still had nothing to show for there troubles but patience is a virtue as Jimmy woods on peg 12 found out and managed to bag a couple of descent carp in last hour and with it all to fish for he was the only angler with a fish on when ALL OUT was called , unfortunately 5 minutes later is luck ran out and the fish was lost with a straightened hook the cause , If the double figure carp had made it to the net the results would be a totally different story, But that’s fishing!
