eels on mill dam

ive been fishing mill dam the last couple of days using mussells .Ive done ok aswell, but had 2 eels just wondering whats the correct way to handle them,i struggled like a t... trying to unhook them any help would be much appreciated thanks

a peice of news paper is probably the only way to get hold of them dnt worry about them losing there protective slime as they ooze the smelly stuff lol

I have used my landing net and gripped them with the net. Crumpled up news paper is best though. I have caught eels in Carr mill dam, given it has been a few years now since I have caught one in Carr mill.

i had a eel out of there about 3 years ago on a match around 4lb, there a nightmare to handle and unhook and its too easy to do them damage while trying to get to grips with them get some pics of up of your next catch bud

It has been about 4 years since I last caught an eel in Carr mill. I used to catch them from the dam wall were the waterside pub is. I have not fished that part of Carr mill for many years, mainly because of the amount of people that go to feed the ducks from the wall there. Saying that it may be one of the best places to fish due to the amount of bread all the time in that area.

i think this is about mill dam in eccleston though i could be wrong
