St Helens Mix-up

G,day Folks, I saw this website & thought it could be useful for me not realising that it was not my St Helens in down under Tasmania .St Helens Tas. is a coastal village situated on the n/e coast it has a permanent population of 5000 that swells to 20000 at holiday times. we have a large estuary(Georges Bay) that flows to the sea over a barway the main industry here is lobster fishing and scallop dredge boats. I have a 4.5m fibreglass 1/2 cabin boat with a 40hp merc outboard that I use to fish in the Bay.
The bay is populated with Garfish,Trevally,Bream,Leatherjacket,Australian Salmon and Flathead very occaisionally snapper are also caught here . I target mainly Garfish which grow to about400mm long and are a very good eating fish they are only available here in the winter months( March -October). I shall continue membership as fishtalk is fishtalk wherever you are and who knows we may be able to get ideas from each other

Hi bryan and welcome. This is a very different St helens to yours. We are situated in the nw of England. Fishing wise we have lots of different methods and fish to you down there. Our inland fishing I.e rivers, ponds, lakes and canals hold many different species. We tend to target carp, bream, tench, roach, perch, barbel, chub and pike to name a few. I'd gladly swap my St helens for yours any day. Tight lines sir!!
