had a days fishing at beacon view fishery wigan with a mate, its a small oblong lake deep in parts to about 13ft.
fished at the farthest corner from the entrance, used a feeder with ground bait and pellet mix on 1 rod and prawns on the other rod just off the rod tip at the bottom of the margin shelf to see if i could tempt one of the sturgeon that live there, no luck on the sturgeon though i landed about 3 nice perch, nothing massive but i believe they go to 3lb in there.
on the feeder rod i had a mixed bag of carp skimmers roach and barbel to about 3lb.
nice place ive been a couple of times over the years and always done ok there, so i would recomend the place to anyone who wants a quite days fishing. ticket was £7 for 2 rods, no meat or boilies to be used.

sounds like you had a decent day mate, and you certainly had the nice weather.

yes the pellet waggler works well on there because of the depth, my mate that fished with me stayed on after me and realy bagged up on it
