ST HELENS AA CANAL MATCH RESULTS 21,11,07

Albert Griffiths Memorial match

A great turnout again today with 23 anglers turning up for the draw, conditions were favourable and really quite mild for this time of year, the water was up considerably due to the heavy downpour we have had lately and so there was a good colour in the water, so all in all great conditions for match fishing . For most it was the usual slow start to the match with not much being caught at all in the first hour Ste Hammy on peg 39 had a small carp in his net, Lee Addy on peg 10 also had a small carp and Ste Rimmer on peg 9 had a few silvers .
A couple of hours later and Dave the match organiser on peg 16 was doing well with skimmers and roach, Graham Sixsmith on peg 21 was also keeping a steady stream of silvers going in his net, Ste Hammy was doing well with a lump around the 8lb mark and a couple of smaller carp already in the bag and still plenty of carp in his swim, Lee Addy was also baggin on carp too and with almost the same in weight in his net it was going to be a very close match indeed! It was as if the carp were sat in the pegs at opposite ends of the main stretch of the canal and unwilling to move on.
Last hour Ste Rimmer , Mark Tyrer and Dave had a small carp each , Ste Hammy lost a couple but managed to slide the net under a few , Lee Addy was baggin on silvers and Graham Sixsmith was still getting some action right to the end.
