River Ribble
need infor as i have not fish the ribble. size of feeders in winter and summer. and main line for now.i have just got the diawa m2 feeder rod .

i use about 8lb bs main line, dont go to long on your hook length about 2 ft or less is what i use as its snaggy with rocks and twigs.
in winter a medium to small open end feeder about 1-2 oz free running with maggots or pellets plugged at both ends with groundbait, keep the rod high and let a bow form in the line so you dont have to use to much lead, you can go longer on the hook length if you want but pin it down with shot along its length.
dont strike into any bites just lean into the rod, fish just on a crease, into the faster water for barbel and the slower for chub.
i hope this is off help,because you probably know most of this.
