does any 1 know if the preston lerc 5050 13m is any good? i have bought 1 second hand in top condition but not had a chance to use it yet i know its a bit old but for £45 i could not refuse.

kev, I had the 5030 a few years ago and it was a top pole then. If you want me av a look at it then bring it round here. Spares are not the easiest to get hold of but when they appear they are often cheap.

Ye u might b right there Alan because I had a look for an extension for it but couldn't find 1 but luckaly the but section of my blue vega I bought last year fits in the back end of it. It looks a bit odd but it works.

I had the 5050 14.5m extension with my 5030 but got rid of it, it's not a bad pole for it's age. I think they were first made around 2000/2001. They are light and strong but I wouldn't put heavy laccy in unless you buy a couple of universal top kits(£15ish). I thing the xt50 sections might fit the pole too so look out for them on ebay

cor blimey, i had one of those yonks ago, top pole at the time, never bothered with extensions, was good at 13 mtrs but was really good at 11, cant remeber the elastic rating but think i used black hydro as the heaviest at the time.

Ye think its only rated to 16s but got 3 top lits for it with the biggest being a hollow 12s .
