ST HELENS AA CANAL MATCH RESULTS 20,2,08

A very cold start to the day due to the heavy frost we had last night and with overcast skies for most of the early part of the day it really was brass monkeys! but eventually the sun broke through the clouds and started to warm everyone up a little, the water was almost as still as it was last week apart from the odd ripple now and again, there was no colour in the water what so ever and it was absolutely gin clear, so not the best conditions for the 21 anglers who turned out.

So first hour or so and Will Travis on peg 39 had a nice lump around 8lb plus a few roach, Marcus Nickson on peg 37 had 2 small carp and a few bits, Charlie Horn on peg 35 was getting a few roach, Frank Nelson on peg 34 had a carp around 11lb, John Risley on peg 25 had a few silverfish, Jim Corkish on peg 24 had a few skimmers, Alan Lever on peg 23 was doing very well with silverfish plus had a 5lb common, Mark Tyrer on peg 21 and Andy Bettison on peg 20 were getting a few bits, Ste Rimmer on peg 12 had a carp around 5lb, as did Chris Taylor on peg 9,
Next couple of hours and Alan Lever had a carp around 4lb and was still bagging on silvers, George Wilton on peg 18 was doing well with silvers plus a small carp around 3lb, Will Travis had a small carp and silvers, Charlie Horn had a small carp plus a few silvers, Jim Corkish was getting a bit of action from silvers while the majority of anglers were struggling for bites.

Last couple of hours and things were on the up with Jim Corkish was bagging on small carp almost a bite a chuck, Jimmy Woods on peg 10 had a nice common around the 10lb mark, Alan Lever was like a machine with the silverfish and was notching a nice weight up! Will Travis had switched tactics and was bagging on quality silvers up in the water, Ste Rimmer was getting a bit of silverfish action, Bob Howard on peg 26 was getting some nice sized roach, George Wilton was doing well with skimmers, Charlie Horn was still keeping the silvers interested and Frank Nelson was getting a few bits.

YEP I PAY MY MONEY WEEK IN WEEK OUT IN ANY CONDITIONS SO I WILL WEIGH IN I GET FED UP WITH PEOPLE TELLING ME THAT THEY PUT SO MUCH BACK, USUALLY BECAUSE THERE IS NOT WHAT THEY SAY IN THEIR NET. I TELL NO LIES AND HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE I HAD 21 FISH AND WORKED HARD FOR EVERY ONE UNFORTUNATELY THEY WERE ALL SMALL.

well personally i wudnt bother but thats not up 2 me soo... but ey look on the bright side in the top 10 every week
