Mellors Pool (Whiston)
Hello,
Just thought i would add a local venue to the list Mellors Pool. This lake is controlled by Whiston Village Angling Club. The lake is located on Windy Arbour Rd in Whiston, opposite St Nicholas Church.
Annual Membership:
£12 Seniors ( New Members Signing On Fee)
£4 Juniors
OAP's Free Lifetime Membership
Day Tickets (Available From Bailiff On Lake)
£3 Seniors
£1 Juniors
Lake Available For Club And Match Bookings.
The lake itself has 34 pegs, There are many species of fish including carp, tench, chub, bream, skimmers, roach and perch. Whatever bait you present will often catch any fish. Pellet is favorite with most anglers and is responsible for the catching of skimmers and bream. However maggot and caster up in the water will catch the quality roach. The carp tend to prefer meat and other big baits.
Match Days
Senior
Monday Evening Open (530pm Draw Fish 6-930) £10
Thursday Club Match (10am Draw Fish 1030-330) £5 (Non Members £
Junior
Wedneday Evening (430pm Draw Fish 5- £3
Currently the lake is fishing really well, although matches have been going for only three weeks the average winning weight is 23lb of bream and skimmers. The last junior match was won with 26lb a combination of bream skimmers and two carp. Below are links to a few different pictures of the lake.

Re: Mellors Pool (Whiston)
Juniors are upto the age of 16. As long as you are 16 after the 1st January and you have got your membership you are considered a junior. I myself missed out really as a 16 year old junior, my birthday was in November so when i came to renew my membership in January, i had to purchase a senior one. I hope this is not to confusing. On the subject of juniors if anyone could suggest anywere to gain sponsorship, it would be appreciated. Not sponsorship as in money as such, im looking for some new trophies for the kids in summer to present for matches.
