ST HELENS AA CANAL MATCH 1,10,08

The weather today was terrible with heavy down pours and strong winds, the fishing was hard.
First hour and Mike Elder on peg 34 had two small carp on double maggot on the tip, Joe Jones on T4 managed a few skimmers on the pole, Dave Allsop on peg 24 and Carl Owen on peg 23 where both catching some nice sized silvers on maggot, Jimmy Corkish on peg 12 netted a few roach and the odd perch.
Next few hour and things didn’t seem to improve much Tony Pennington on peg 16 caught a few silvers, John Howard on peg 9, Charlie Horn on peg 7, Jimmy Corkish Ste Hammy on peg 26 and Kev Jones on peg 30 where all catching the odd silver here and there. Mike Elder had 2 more small carp on the tip, Graham Dawber Netted 3 carp plus a few silvers, Ste Rimmer on peg 20 managed a small carp around 3lb plus an hand full of roach, George Wilton on peg 18 had a carp around 5lb plus bits, Dave Allsop was still getting action with silvers, Carl Owen managed a small carp plus a few more silvers.

Last hour and Ste Rimmer managed to get 4 carp at 17 meters all on maggot, Graham Dawber had a few more silvers, Dave Allsop managed a small carp plus a few more bits, Eddy Johnston on peg 4 had 2 small carp plus a few silvers, Mike Elder netted another small carp, and Carl Owen was still catching some nice silvers, and with only the odd silverfish being caught here and there it was a real grueler of a match.
