tried this water again on friday . fished from about 12 oclock till 4 30 and never stopped catching roach perch bream some nice fish all in all there was five anglers and between us there was 3 carp and a catfish the main baits used was maggot pellet luncheon also there was no idiots around and the police did pass by twice as well as the bailiff who informed me of some big catches of carp on the shallow end

Did abit of fishing on the bend again last nite wiv the wife she had no luck but i hit the carp again. A nice 4lb about 6ish then i had nothing but a small roach till 8 as the last of the light faded and i was thinking of packing up BANG!! 15 mins i was fightin the carp for even had a couple of coppers as spectators lol. It was a nice 11lb'er. I told the coppers about the trouble us paying anglers have wiv the non license holders and he said they're gonna srart askin people for there licenses. Result

thats a result rick! i have to say the canal is being policed very well at the moment and there allways seems to be a couple of bobbys walking down the canal of late

what method and baits where you using rick?

beleive it or not the first was caught on red maggot, 2 on a size 14 wide gape hook, float fishing on the bottom the last was on ledger. 1 piece of corn n 2 red maggot on a size 10 wiv a small feeder on aswel packed wiv white crumb maggot n corn. 4 times outta 6 ive caught carp using this method now

Dunno how true this is but today wen i was fishing the canal near tescos a bloke was telling me that there is chub in their?? Ive never caught 1 does anybody know how true this is?

lol that bloke was me fella and its true if you look through all the old match reports for the canal from last couple of years you will see the pics that waggler woman took of them and it was one of the holland twins who caught them.
