ST HELENS CANAL MATCH RESULTS 18,3,09

The weather started off overcast with a slight nip in the air but it wasn’t long before the sun came out to warm things up, and so it was quite a nice day For the 24 anglers who turned out for the penultimate match of the series.
So first few hours and Ray Roughly on peg T8 netted a nice carp around 6lb an single white maggot and also had a few silvers, Will Travis on peg 21 and Alan Lever on peg 20 were catching some nice roach and skimmers, Dave Coleman on peg 17 was doing well with some nice sized skimmers plus some nice roach, Marcus Nickson on peg 32 had the silverfish on the go up in the water producing some nice roach and skimmers, Tony Pennington on peg 18 caught some nice skimmers, Dave Allsop on peg T6 netted a small carp around 2lb to go with the few silvers in his net, Phil Holland on peg 4 had a small carp around 2lb plus silvers, Charlie Horn on peg 7 and Phil Holland on peg 12 also netted a few silvers, while everyone else was catching the odd silver here and there.
Last few hours and Mike Elder on peg T7 landed two carp one around 4lb and the other around 2lb to go with his silvers, Baz Ashcrofts swim began to produce some nice roach and skimmers , Will Travis And Alan Lever were catching the odd skimmer, Carl Owen on peg 34 started to catch some better sized skimmers as did Roy Waring on peg T2 ,Ray Roughley netted a small eel plus a few silvers, Dave Coleman was still netting those nice sized skimmers until the end, Marcus Nickson was still working hard bagging on roach and skimmers, Phill Holland netted a carp towards the end around 4lb and Ste Rimmer bagged a carp around 6lb at the death, everyone caught .
