Fished the Wigan Stretch from Gathhurst to Apply Bridge. Some nice spots but didn't catch. Spoke to a few anglers on there who said there were some nice Chub in there. Apparently the best places are below the weir heading towards Appley Bridge, Lobworm does well there. Hope this helps mate.

Wigan AA have the stretch from the Navigation Pub(now the Blue Elephant) for about a mile down stream. I have been told that from Apply bridge to the weir pool is free.

Fished the gathurst stretch again, spoke to a guy who use to baliff the stretch, said it was badly poluted 3 years ago and the fish stocks have never recovered. Fished about six swims and not a knock so maybe there was some truth to what he said.
