ST HELENS AA CANAL MATCH RESULTS 27,2,08

The weather wasn’t to bad today, none of the wet stuff and bright sunshine for most of the day, on the down side the wind was blowing a gale straight down the canal and it had a real bitter edge to it which kept the temperature down and it really was quite chilly for the 20 anglers who turned out, So as you would expect the strong wind made it difficult for most to go across to the far shelf for the majority of the day, but it did eventually ease off a little leaving it just manageable for a few to go across and tempt a few lumps, and with the lull in the wind the sun started to warm us all up a bit too!

First hour in! and Ste Hammy on peg 37 was catching a few quality silvers, Iain Sullivan on peg 39 was also doing well with quality silvers and managed bagged himself carp around the 6lb mark, George Wilton on peg 26 , Ste Rimmer on peg 25, Jimmy Woods on peg 20 and Jimmy Corkish on peg 9 were all getting some action with silverfish, Will Travis on peg 17 had a few silvers plus a small and Alan Lever on peg 12 also had a few silvers plus a carp of a couple of pound,

Next hour and Mike Elder on peg 32 was getting some descent sized roach, Iain Sullivan still getting plenty of silverfish plus another carp around 6lb, Dave Allsop on peg 35 was getting a bit of interest of silvers, Jimmy Corkish, Will Travis and Shaun Smith on peg 16 were catching a few silvers, Meanwhile Dave Morris on peg 23 had a 4lb carp and Charlie Horn on peg 27 bagged a few small carp.

Next hour or so Charlie Horn had a carp around 5lb, George Wilton was getting some nice Skimmers, peg 34 was doing well with descent sized silvers, Jimmy Corkish was doing well with roach, Mike Elder had a 6lb carp on 1lb line and 22s hook, Ste Hammy Bagged two nice sized carp, Iain Sullivan was still catching roach and yeah you guessed it plus another carp, Alan lever was still doing well with roach and skimmers.

Last hour and Charlie Horn put another carp in the net, Warren Douglas on peg 22 had a carp around 3lb, Iain Sullivan was true to form and putting a few good sized carp in the net, Ste Rimmer had a quality skimmer and a carp around 3lb, Ste Hammy caught two small carp plus a lovely roach which weighed in at 1lb 12oz, and Alan Lever had twenty minute battle with a 16lb+ common and netted it just as all out was called, Good Angling!

nice carp at the end there for alan lever he also lost a big one bout an half an hour before tht which wud hve prob pushed him up to second running close wiv 1st the scale tht come of it was like a 50p lol great vid again waggler woman

nice to meet u to cudnt stick around for the weigh in . think ill giv it a go a couple of times while theyve been extended till end march
